Biden agrees to pay climate REPARATIONS: US will pay up to $1BN to compensate developing countries for global warming – but gas-guzzling China WON’T have to pay into global fund
A few thoughts…
Paying reparations in an acknowledgement you’ve done something wrong to someone and you need to repair the situation. We did not harm the nations that this global slush fund will slosh a few dollars on (After the ‘administrators’ collect their operating fees and lavish travel costs).
A more worthy project would be to find out what is causing a catastrophic collapse of the world’s bee population, and then figuring out how to reverse it.
Whatever environmental degradation the globe has suffered has not been for naught. Billions of people all over the world, including those getting the doled-out cash, have been lifted out of poverty and enjoy a greater standard of living than their grandparents thanks to western advances in medicine, farming, food distribution and technology.
China – the world’s biggest polluter – wouldn’t have to contribute to any global fund, because it is still considered a developing nation, despite its vast wealth.
This is a farce. If advanced nations had any balls, they would halt this entire money raking operation until–apologies to Bernie Sanders–China paid their fair share.
